How thick is blood?

"What the hell were you doing?"

She glanced his way, staring at him as he stood there on the doorway. Her face was an expressionless mask. As she raised an arm to brush a strand of loose hair, the bandage on her wrist hits him on the eye like a blazing beacon.

He rushes closer, impatient for her lack of response. "What the hell were you thinking anyway? You really wanna die that much?"

She finally noticed how he looked at her wrist with rage in his eyes. "Oh? Are you talking about this?" was her casual reply.

"Yes! Have you lost your mind?"

"No." She traced a finger over her bandaged wrist. "It was not an attempted suicide, if that what you think it was."

"Then what do you call that little act of yours?" he said, clearly infuriated.

She shrugged, drawing her knees up. She leaned her head on her knees, still gazing at him with her dark eyes. "It was simply an experiment. I wonder, you see, if I got rid of all the blood within me... Would then... Would then I cease to have a blood relation with him? Would people stop referring to me as his child? Would it make life much easier?"

As he failed to give her any answer, she smiled. "See? I was simply curious, that's all..."

Maaf kalau semisal banyak kesalahan grammar dalam penggalan cerita di atas. Maaf juga kalau membaca cerita di atas membuat kalian mengira saya lagi terlibat masalah lain yang membuat saya jadi tertarik mencoba bunuh diri atau apapun.

Bukan kok. Ini cuma ide cerita yang tiba-tiba muncul di kepala, dan sayang kalau tidak diwujudkan dalam kata-kata. Cuma sebuah pertanyaan bodoh, andai saya bisa menukar semua darah dalam tubuh ini, apa kemudian saya tidak lagi punya hubungan dengan keluarga sedarah saya?

Itu saja. Cuma sebersit rasa ingin tahu. Itu saja.
